Dry and pleasant weekend instore for Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Surface high pressure is centered over the Central Gulf Coast. This will lead to dry conditions, clear skies and gradual warming as it moves eastward this evening. Our high temperatures reached the low to mid 60s in the north to the upper 60s in Central Georgia. Our dewpoints and relative humidity have dropped to 15-20 percent. As a result of these numbers, a Fire Danger Statement is in effect across Middle Georgia. By tonight, the ridge will be centered near the Atlantic Coast. Low temperatures on Saturday will warmer than this morning, ranging from the upper 30s to the low 40s across the region. Temperatures will continue to climb under mostly clear skies, ranging into the upper 60s to the low 70s in North Georgia and mid 70s in Central Georgia during the afternoon. A cold front will begin to approach the area by late Sunday, bringing the next chance of rain.
