Driver under the influence hits, injures Monroe deputy
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Monroe County deputy is recovering and a man is in jail after a car crash on I-75.
Cpl. Tim Campfield was reportedly helping a driver move a car off the road, when a drunk driver hit him early Sunday morning.
Cpl. Campfield was released from the hospital with minor injuries.
In addition with driving under the influence, 27-year-old Chip Stargardt was arrested and charged with violating Georgia’s move over law, driving with a suspended registration, and not having insurance.
