Driver hospitalized after rollover crash in Monroe County

A driver was taken to a Macon hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Monroe County on Wednesday morning.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A driver was taken to a Macon hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Monroe County on Wednesday morning.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 9 a.m. to Johnstonville Road just before Triple Crown Way in reference to a vehicle accident.

Preliminary rpeort indicates the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Authorities said the driver became trapped inside the vehicle following the crash. The Monroe County Fire Department responded and safely removed the driver from the wreckage.

The driver was transported to a hospital in Macon for treatment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
