Dr. Henry C. Ficklin to run for Bibb County School Board Post 2

Dr. Henry Ficklin announced on Sunday he's running for the Bibb County School Board Post 2 position.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A new candidate throws his hat into the ring for position with the Bibb County School Board.

Dr. Henry Ficklin announced in a news release over the weekend he’s running for the Bibb County School Board Post 2 position.

Dr. Ficklin says he wants to continue the “powerful representation from District Two.” He’s hoping to fill the seat that will be left vacant by Dr. Thelma Dillard, who is term-limited.

The release calls Ficklin, who has a Ph.D from Mercer University, a highly awarded retired educator. He also serves as a pastor at a local Baptist church.

Dr. Ficklin has spent several years working in the Bibb School District, performing multiple duties, from teaching in the classroom to administrative work.

He’s also served in government, including eight consecutive terms on Macon City Council.
