Dr. Dan Sims receives GSSA President’s Award for leadership and student success

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Bibb County Schools Superintendent Dr. Dan Sims has received a statewide award recognizing his leadership and impact on student success.

The Georgia School Superintendents Association named Sims the recipient of its 2026 President’s Award. The organization presents the award annually to superintendents who demonstrate strong leadership and implement programs that improve outcomes for students.

The association said the award recognizes forward-thinking leadership and a commitment to student success.

Sims received the honor during the group’s Spring Bootstrap Conference.
