Dr. Anissa Jones launches campaign for Georgia State House District 143
She outlined some of her focuses as public safety, infrastructure, and economic development.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dr. Anissa Jones has officially launched her campaign to fill the Georgia State House District 143 seat, being vacated by House Minority Leader Representative James Beverly.
Dr. Jones is a well-known figure in the Middle Georgia community. She’s the former Vice Chair of the Macon Water Authority Board, and the first African-American Chiropractor to establish a practice in Macon-Bibb County, owning Total Fuze Spine and Pain Center in downtown Macon.
She outlined some of her focuses as public safety, infrastructure, and economic development. Dr. Jones also emphasized the importance of access to healthcare and mental health services.
“Folks are are dealing with some problems and they can’t even get to their basic needs because of their mental health state. Macon, Georgia, Middle Georgia and Georgia deserve to have facilities in their neighborhoods that can take care of that,” said Dr. Jones.
Dr. Jones will face Republican Barbara Boyer in the November election.
