Downtown Macon gears up for annual French Fry Fight
Downtown Macon restaurants are getting ready for the Fourth Annual French Fry Fight, set to begin this week.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Downtown Macon restaurants are getting ready for the Fourth Annual French Fry Fight, set to begin this week. This year, the competition is expanding from a one-day event to a three-day celebration in honor of National Fry Day. From July 9 through July 11, 23 local restaurants will dish out unique, creative takes on the classic French fry. Hosted by NewTown Macon’s Main Street program, the event is designed to boost foot traffic during the slower summer season by turning a fan-favorite side dish into a headlining attraction. Each participating restaurant will serve its specialty fry dish at its own location. Diners can sample the offerings and cast their vote for the best fries online at newtownmacon.com. The restaurant with the most votes will take home the “Super Spud” award—along with serious bragging rights.
Participating restaurants include:
Biddy’s, Braddock’s Cask and Table, Cashman’s Pub, Daisy Tequila Bar, Fall Line Brewing Co., Fatty’s Pizza, Francar’s, Just Tap’d, Kinjo Kitchen + Cocktails, Kudzu Seafood Company, La Bella Morelia, Longleaf Distilling Co., Loom at Hotel Forty Five, Macon Water Ice, Ocmulgee Brewpub, Oliver’s Corner Bistro, Parish on Cherry, Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen, Rookery, Satterfield’s, Sweet Eleanor’s, Social Duck, and The Vintage Restaurant at Marriott City Center.
