Donation Boxes Popping Up Across Middle Georgia To Give Kids Something New This Year

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Before you head to the store for your Black Friday shopping experience, middle Georgia organizations are asking you to think about buying something for kids who might not otherwise get a gift this holiday season.

Kids Yule Love, a non-profit program started by Bibb County Commissioner Joe Allan in Macon, has caught on around middle Georgia. In fact, it’s going quite strong throughout Baldwin County right now. And for good reason. More than 300 families have already signed up, asking for help this Christmas and holiday season.

The Baldwin County Fire Department began helping Kids Yule Love three years ago, to help relieve some of the burden on struggling families in the county.

Fire Chief Troy Reynolds, said this year, the 300 families looking for help, is a steady increase since they first began collecting toys for kids, and that’s why the county decided to jump in.

“To give back to the community that we serve. We like to serve more than just when someone needs our assistance because they dial 911. We want to be there for any need that we can assist the families with,” Reynolds said.

Kids Yule Love is asking you to donate new, unwrapped toys, so children can open a brand new gift this year.
