Dogs Make a Splash at Perry’s Dogwood Festival
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Diving dogs wowed the crowd at the 25th annual Dogwood Festival in Perry.
The annual event lived up to its name by hosting the DockDog competition in conjunction with its arts and crafts show. The festival’s newest addition drew hundreds of people. While some were just curious spectators, several people, like Lisa Gunn were serious competitors.
Gunn and her Labrador Retriever Lily drove in from Alabama to compete. It was their first time at the festival and Gunn said they will definitely be back.
“We were staying at the New Perry Hotel and everything’s close and really convenient and it was just set up really well,” Gunn said.
Event organizers say with all the new additions and the nice weather on Saturday, Dogwood Festival had a record breaking crowd.
