Dog of the Week: Katie
MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – This week’s “Dog of the Week” is Katie!
Katie is a two year old “Chiweenie,” also known as a chihuahua dachshund mix.
Reginia Brabham from Critical Care for Animal Angels says Katie has a great personality; she is affectionate, loves going for rides in the car, walks on a leash and plays with other dogs.
Brabham says Katie would be a perfect match for a family with children, but not very young children. Katie is still being fed separate from the other dogs at Critical Care for Animal Angels, because she doesn’t like anyone messing with her meals or treats.
If you’re interested in adopting Katie or any other dogs from Critical Care for Animal Angels, head to the Critical Care For Animal Angels Facebook page.
This Weekend
September 14-16 is National Pet Adoption weekend. Local and national shelters are full of dogs. Without adoptions being made, dogs are dying in shelters, and the euthanasia rate is up.
Critical Care for Animal Angels is almost at capacity for the amount of dogs the organization is allowed to take in. Adoptions need to happen to save these four-legged friends. All PetSmart locations will also have dogs available for adoption this weekend.
Coming Up…
On October 6, Critical Care for Animal Angels will host its annual “Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival” at North Peach Park in Byron.
Kids will be able to trick or treat, collecting candy from different trunks. There will be raffles, a talent show competition and dogs available for adoption on site, too.
All it takes for entry is a $1 donation per child.
If you are interested in participating or would like to be a vendo, please email Regenia Brabham at ccaa.georia@gmail.com.
