Disney On Ice brings magic to Macon Coliseum this weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The magic of Disney is taking over the Macon Coliseum this weekend as Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures makes its stop in Middle Georgia.

Before the show opens, we got the chance to lace up his skates and join the cast for a special behind-the-scenes experience.

Performers say this year’s show takes audiences on an interactive journey through some of Disney’s most beloved stories, including Frozen, Toy Story 4, The Lion King and Aladdin.

Marcus Mimidis, who portrays Genie, says every costume and prop helps tell a piece of the story.

“Because the show is called Road Trip Adventures, Minnie, Mickey, Donald and Goofy are taking the audience on a road trip,” Mimidis said. “There might be a breakdown, there might be a situation where they have to bring some supplies with them, and that’s what our props represent.”

Princess Jasmine performer Ciara Pickney says audiences can expect not only familiar stories, but also new characters and modern twists that keep the show fresh and exciting for all ages.

Families attending the show can look forward to dazzling lights, high-flying stunts, and up-close character moments that make Disney magic come alive on the ice.
