Diamond Foundation Gives More Than 20 Turkeys To Families In Need
More than 20 families in need were given turkeys today by the Diamond Foundation. The foundation’s goal is to end homelessness through counseling and supportive services with emphasis placed on independent living and family stability. 20 to 25 turkeys were given out in downtown Macon to families who were thankful for the help. For the diamond foundation, giving back to families in need during this time of the year is very important.
“Some of our families have been Indentified as in need through our community resource partners and then there are individuals who are from the community that have just come up and we have been able to supply them with a turkey for Thanksgiving, said Will Butler, Diamond Foundation Board Member “.
“I am very thankful, because there are so many people today and tomorrow that won’t have anything for thanksgiving but I plan on sharing this with my neighbors and any one that comes to my house for thanksgiving, said Diane Travis “.
The Diamond Foundation is planning on having several fund raisers next year. For more information on the Diamond Foundation and how you can help, you can go to their website at www.thediamondfoundation.org.
