Deputies investigating east Bibb County shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in east Bibb County.

Investigators say the incident happened Friday around 6 p.m. The sheriff’s office tells 41NBC, 23-year-old DeVontez Turner was standing in the alley across the street from Fort Hawkins Package Store on Emory Highway when he heard a gunshot. Turner dropped to the ground and grabbed his left knee.

The victim told investigators a relative drove up in a car after the shooting and took him to the hospital. Turner is listed in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office says Turner did not know who shot him or where the shot came from.
