Deputies arrest man connected with west Macon shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators made an arrest in connection with a shooting of Marques Slocumb that happened in west Macon on September 11.

Investigators identified the suspect as 37-year-old Lester Conrad Summers Jr. of Macon.  Authorities say they located  Summers at the Econo Lodge on Chambers Road around 11:30 p.m. yesterday.

Deputies arrested Summers without incident and took him into the investigations office for questioning.

Deputies found Slocumb in the intersection of Harrison and Chambers with gunshot wounds.  He is listed in stable condition at this time.

The charges

Deputies later took Summers to the Bibb County Jail and charged him with Aggravated Assault. Authorities have set no bond for him.
