Deployed Soldier surprises daughter at school
Letitia Williams has been in Afghanistan for the past nine months. Even though she returned home yesterday, she decided to surprise her daughter at school, today.
“It was tough to be away from her,” said Jaedyn.
Williams surprised her daughter during lunch at Russell Elementary school in Warner Robins on Wednesday afternoon.
Although Williams has been part of the National Guard for almost ten years, this was her first deployment to Afghanistan.
She said seeing her daughter for the first time in nine months was emotional.
“I started crying. I think I started crying before I even walked into the school,” recalled Williams.
While her mom was overseas with the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Jaedyn stayed with her Godparents, Robert and Latrissa Johnson.
The Johnsons said it was an indescribably feeling to finally see these two reunited.
Williams knew Jaedyn was in good hands with The Johnsons.
Jaedyn has big plans now that her mom is back home, like going to the beach. Williams says she just wants to make her daughter happy.
