WARNER ROBINS, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – Another week of high school football brings another hometown throwdown as the Warner Robins Demons prepare to host the Houston County Bears in the Week Four Game of the Week.

The Demons (2-1) are coming off their ninth straight victory over rival Northside. Now, they turn their attention to another Region 2-5A opponent just seven miles away.

Warner Robins has owned this rivalry in the past, winning five straight at one point. But over the last three years, the Bears have flipped momentum, with the Demons winning just once, a 54-44 comeback thriller in the fourth quarter in 2024.

Sophomore quarterback Chandler Dyson has been the offensive catalyst, accounting for seven of Warner Robins’ last eight touchdowns, six through the air and a 45-yard run to seal last Friday’s win. Receivers like Jacoby Parsons and defensive back Lekevious Bryant are aiming to help the Demons secure their second straight victory in the series and the 19th win in the matchup’s 28-game history.

Coaches and players said they expect another high-scoring battle Friday night.

“We always want to continue to come out on fire, be physical,” Demons Head Coach Shane Sams said. “We saw in the first half we played hard, but in the second half we played extremely hard. That’s the effort we need every single game. If we play like we did in the second half, we’re going to be a special football team.”

Players echoed that mentality, pointing to the offensive line, leadership and unity as keys.

“It always starts at the O-line. It starts with the quarterback too,” Parsons said. “We’ve been coming together as a team. This might be a tough game, but I feel like we can pull off the win. It’s gonna take leadership. It’s gonna take us having to come in as a team.”

Defensive preparation is also top of mind as Warner Robins braces for Houston County’s offense.

“It’s going to be on the DBs this week. We got to be disciplined in the backfield because they like to run a lot of motions and try to get people off track,” Bryant said. “As long as we play together, we will be a very dominant defense, very scary defense.”

Coaches expect a fun, competitive atmosphere between two programs that know each other well.

“They got a very good head football coach, a very good staff and very good players,” another coach said. “So it’s always a fun game to go into. Each team’s gonna try to scheme each other up, really go and try to attack. It’s gonna make it for a competitive game and a fun game to watch.”
