Decline for Macon unemployment rate

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The unemployment rate in Macon for the month of April dropped from 6.6 to 6.4.

According to the Georgia Department of Labor, the decline is a result of more jobs in the area. The number of jobs increased by 100. The gains were in professional and business services.

This is the lowest the rate has been since July 2008.

Warner Robins’ rate dropped from 6.3 to 6.1.
