DECISION 2013: Tompkins Wants to Continue Career of Service Through District 5 Seat
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Current Macon city councilman Louis Tompkins wants to continue his years of service to Macon and Bibb County by leading District 5.
“The growing pains will be the inception and setting up of the new consolidated government,” said Tompkins.
But, he believes his experience from council with budgets, personnel, leading, and working with people make him the right man for the job.
He says off the bat, it’s important to form good relationships with people, and he’s got the skills to do so.
Tompkins spent 43 years working for the Bibb County School system. He says he knows right from wrong.
“I have a work ethics that can’t be touched… all of my time has been working with people, service,” said Tompkins.
If elected, don’t expect to see a leader who’s going to sugar coat. Tompkins says that’s not his style.
“I’m not the kind of person that tells you what you want to hear. I tell the truth,” Tompkins.
Tompkins has been on Macon city council since 2011. He currently serves on the public safety and rules committees.
