DECISION 2013: District 6 Candidate Chav Wants to Be Change for Macon-Bibb

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Political newcomer, Chhor Chav, says he’s been talking to the residents of District 6, and they’re looking for a fresh face.

“The biggest they want is change… They want some new blood, and I’m the person for them,” said Chav.

He believes he’s got the right ideas to move the community forward. Chav, a California native, calls Macon home now. He tells 41NBC he’s tired of seeing internal bickering on Macon city council.

“Working together. That’s the magic word,” said Chav.

Chav says his experience working on Robins Air Force Base has prepared him to take on a government role.

“I’m a sheet metal mechanic, I’ve been working on planes my whole life. The one thing you have to understand is, whatever you do, you are representing someone’s life,” said Chav.

While he adds, serving on the county won’t be that dramatic, it’s important to realize that every decision leaders make impact the people. He says that’s why he thinks things through before hand, and that’s one reason he’d be a good leader.

When Chav announced he was running for commission, he told 41NBC his one year old daughter inspired him. He says he wants to make a better Macon-Bibb County for her.
