Man identified after overnight Macon shooting

Death Investigation Underway On Houston Avenue In Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)— A man is dead following a shooting in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to an emergency call just before 1 a.m. in the 3400 block of Houston Avenue after a report of a person down. When they arrived, deputies found a 42-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound outside a residence.

Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him dead.

The victim has been identified as Marquiz Hoges of Macon.
