MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Elections Office is reminding residents that the voter registration deadline is fast approaching.
This Monday, October 7 marks the last day to register to vote in the upcoming November election. Tom Gillon, the Elections Supervisor at Macon-Bibb County Elections Board, says you can head over to the Macon-Bibb County Elections Office, located at 3661 Eisenhower Parkway Suite MB101 (inside Macon Mall). You will need to provide your ID, and if you recently moved to Georgia from out of state, you should also bring proof of residency.
Gillon also mentioned there are more important races voters should know about in addition to the presidential election.
“There is the U.S. Congress, the House of Representatives, the State Senate, and a number of local races where the candidates are running unopposed, things like sheriff, tax Commissioner and other ones like that,” he said.
The Elections Office will close at its regular time of 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Residents can also register to vote online at the Secretary of State’s ‘My Voter Page.’
Additionally, absentee ballots will be mailed out on Monday.
Election Day is November 5. Early voting started October 15.
