(CNN)- Federal authorities are searching for 24-year-old Stevenson Charles, who the U.S. Marshals Service says is extremely dangerous following an escape from the DeKalb County Jail.
Charles was being held in DeKalb County while facing new murder and theft charges connected to the 2022 shooting death of a 24-year-old man from Cumming. Investigators say Charles allegedly killed the victim and stole his car.
Authorities say Charles is already serving a life sentence for kidnapping a Lawrenceville couple he met through a dating app in 2022. Prosecutors say he robbed and sexually assaulted the couple at gunpoint. Charles also pleaded guilty to federal charges tied to a series of crimes in Miami, where investigators say he targeted gay men on the dating app Grindr before robbing them.
Federal officials say Charles has also been charged or convicted in other major crimes over the years, including sodomy involving a child under the age of ten and multiple weapons violations. He is described as 5-foot-7, weighing approximately 200 pounds, and has ties to the Atlanta and Miami metro areas.
U.S. Marshals are also searching for two additional fugitives believed to be dangerous. Thirty-one-year-old Yusuf Minor is wanted on murder charges in Clayton County and faces additional armed robbery and firearm possession charges in DeKalb County.
The third fugitive, 25-year-old Naod Yohannes, is charged with simple assault, arson, and acts of violence while inside a jail facility.
Officials warn that all three men may be armed and are urging the public not to approach them. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.
