Damaged utility pole closes Vineville Avenue

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s Department is rerouting traffic on Vineville Avenue, in between Riverdale and Roycrest Avenues, in order to repair a damaged utility pole.

The pole was damaged when a 2005 GMC pick-up truck traveling west on Vineville Ave. lost control and slammed into it. The accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone to avoid this area if at all possible until further notice.
