Crossroads Christian Counseling Center opens new outpatient facility on Macon’s east side
The center is open Monday through Friday at 717 North Ave.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The east side of Macon is getting an upgrade with a new outpatient counseling center, Crossroads Christian Counseling Center.
Robyn Schopp, executive director of Crossroads Christian Counseling Center, said the center was “a God sent” and that it will use faith-based guidance to help the community.
Schopp said that in 2023, she approached the board of directors and explained the facility was not meeting the needs of the community. After research, fundraisers and prayer, she said they secured a new location. The center offers play therapy for children as young as 4, as well as counseling for adolescents and adults, along with family and premarital counseling.
“So, with Christian counseling we recognize in order to be whole, you not only have to have your emotional and physical wellbeing, but also your spiritual wellbeing. So, it allows us to be able to incorporate Christ into the counseling arena. with crossroads we are an outpatient Christian counseling center; we recognize that everyone seeking services may not be a Christian and that’s fine, our doors are open to everybody”, said Schopp.
Schopp said the center aims to provide a balance between mental, physical and spiritual care.
“There’s going to be times when life is hard and battling with grief, you’re battling with illness, with struggles. So, the reality is your circumstances may not be changing at that moment, but how you look at it and be able to work through it, so it’s one moment at a time, one step at a time. Just like grief, tomorrow is too far away, but at this very moment I’ve got this moment. So, embrace Christ one step at a time and the body of Christ that comes together to be able to help on another”, said Schopp.
Licensed professional counselor and play therapist Charlotte Stewart provides psychotherapy and family counseling for all ages. After 15 years of service, she considered retiring but noticed a need for more help in the community.
“Every time I do an assessment, I’m finding out the family dynamics are crumbling; and we’ve got to really provide help and services for our children, and families. So, family counseling is one of my major treatment modalities, because how can we help the child; if we don’t look at the family as a whole. So, it’s been very successful, and helped so many children and adults to feel better and to be at peace”, said Stewart.
The center is open Monday through Friday at 717 North Ave.
