CrimeStoppers Pays Out More Than a Half Million in Rewards

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon Regional CrimeStoppers celebrated it’s 11th annual community luncheon Monday.

The non-profit agency partners with local law enforcement, media, and the community. Since the organization’s start in 2000, they have made more than 3,600 arrests, cleared 5,357 cases and have paid $512,592 in reward money.

CrimeStoppers Sgt. Robert Martin said, “We like to think of ourselves as a tool for law enforcement agencies, that they can use our program, spend less money on filling a tank full of gas up, or getting two investigators in a car, using that tank of gas, riding out in the community looking for fugitives.”

A cash reward is offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest.

The luncheon was held at the Macon Centreplex.
