Coroner: Person dead after shooting at gas station in Centerville

CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A person is dead after being shot at a gas station in Centerville on Wednesday, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.

The shooting happened around 7 a.m. in the Marathon Gas Station parking lot, which is located at 500 Wilson Drive in Centerville.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab in Macon. The GBI is handling the investigation.
