Coroner: 1 dead after fatal crash in Houston County

Coroner Williams says the vehicle was attempting to flee from law enforcement when it crashed.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One person is dead in Houston County after a fatal car crash that took place on Moody Road, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.

The fatal car crash happened just north of Highway 127 in Kathleen on May 4. Coroner Williams says the vehicle was attempting to flee from law enforcement when it crashed.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 22-year-old Jaiquavius Kejuwn Josey of Macon. Josey was pronounced dead on the scene.

Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation. No further information is available at this time.
