Cooler, drier weather returns to Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — After a hectic week, we settle down in a big way today. A cool front moved through our area and is now continuing its southward track through the southeast. The front has generously left us seasonable temperatures and sunshine.

As a comparison, we woke up to a morning low of 64 in Macon yesterday, well above the 51 degree average. Today, we saw this spread:

Gray: 47
Milledgeville: 48
Dublin: 50
Macon: 51
Forsyth: 52
Warner Robins: 54
McRae: 55
Perry: 55
Abbeville: 57

Big difference! Add to that lower humidity today, sunshine and a high expected around 75, and your Tuesday looks perfect!

A bit of a warm-up tomorrow with temperatures getting up to the low 80s, but sunshine will remain until we bump up the rainfall chances a bit on Thursday. We’re not looking at any severe weather, and right now, I’m not putting much in terms of rain, especially compared to the past seven days.

The rainiest day so far on the forecast is Saturday, but with changes likely as the weekend is far off, expect the timing to that larger system to change as we get closer to the weekend.
