Cool and dry this morning, storm chances return tomorrow

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Quite the refreshing morning with temperatures in the upper 50s! If you enjoy those temperatures, take advantage of the morning because I don’t see those temperatures returning in the extended forecast. Temperatures warm up to around 87 for a high today with a mix of sun and clouds.

Overnight, we expect moisture to flow into the area from the south, bringing some rain while we’re enjoying our sleep. Tomorrow, mother nature introduces a summer-like rain pattern: showers and storms pop up in the afternoon and fizzle in the evening. The temperatures won’t follow the summer pattern, however, as our highs will be in the low to mid 80s. Morning lows, though, will warm up to the low to mid 60s.

As far as severe weather goes, I’m not seeing a chance of that through Saturday. I wonder more about Sunday since I see CAPE (convective available potential energy) at around 750 joules and higher, which could spark more storms and more lightning. I’d say there’s probably a marginal chance for severe weather then, but honestly, it doesn’t look scary; it just looks like your typical spring storm weather.
