Construction on Tractor Supply Distribution Center in Macon Reaches Major Milestone

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Construction on the Tractor Supply Distribution Center in South Bibb County is lifting off, literally.

Over the weekend, helicopters were used to fly in large pieces of HVAC equipment onto the roof.

Officials are calling this a major milestone for the company and the community, as they continue construction on the $50 million facility.

“It’s because of the SPLOST that was passed that helped seal the deal on providing the resources to be able to attract such a company as Tractor Supply to our community,” said Cliffard Whitby with Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority.

The distribution center will employ more than 200 people and is expected to be complete in September. Anyone interested in working at the new center is asked to contact the Macon-Bibb Workforce Development Authority at (478)-751-7333.
