Congressman Sanford Bishop Opens New Office in Macon
MACON, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – Congressman Sanford Bishop opened the doors to his new congressional office in Macon on Monday.
Bishop, along with members of his staff and elected officials in Macon, celebrated the day with a ribbon cutting,and open house at the Willie C. Hill Annex on Cherry street. Macon and Bibb County were added to Bishop’s district this year.
Congressman Bishop says he and his staff are here to work and fight,for the people. “We’re here to work for and in behalf of the second congressional district, we have offices in Macon, Columbus, and Albany and of course Washington and we’re as close as a telephone or an email,” Bishop said.
The second district includes 29 middle and southwest Georgia counties. The new office in Macon is the third in the district, It will provide services for people who need help with the federal government programs like social security and Medicare.
