Congressman Bishop praises Obama’s plans laid out in State of the Union
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Congressman Sanford Bishop praised President Obama’s plans to help the country during Tuesday night’s State of the Union address.
Bishop says it’s important that everyone can benefit from the government and take part in opportunities, such as Obama’s idea to provide affordable community college education for Americans.
“Which will make education more affordable for more people, particularly the people who are least able to afford [it], middle class families, who are least able to afford it,” Bishop said.
Bishop adds he thinks it is important for the tax code to be reformed so it is fair for all citizens.
He believes the president’s proposals can work for the good of everyone in the country as long as Congress can cooperate and work across party lines.
