Congressman Austin Scott Meets With Residents of Middle Georgia
Congressman Austin Scott is traveling through Middle Georgia this week to promote Constiuents Work Week. Today he met with residents of Covington and Forsyth at town hall meetings… and ate lunch with citizens in Jackson.
Scott brought along charts, figures, and personal experience to educate people about what’s really going on in Washington. He opened the floor for questions and residents got a little heated while discussing hot topics like taxes, government spending, and entitlement programs.
“The entitlement program, that’s what’s breaking the country. That’s what the congressman showed on his pie chart, it’s entitlement that’s really hurting the economy. It’s hurting the working man because the working people are paying for it,” says John Cannon, Forsyth resident.
“We’re talking a lot about how we got here, and we’re making sure that the public knows that we don’t blame any one person or quite hoenstly one party for the problems that we have,” says Scott.
He will be attending town hall meetings tomorrow in Macon at 10 am and Warner Robins at 12pm… and you can eat “Lunch with your Legislator” tomorrow at 12 pm in Gray at the Tri-County EMC.
