Coliseum Health System awards academic scholarships
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Coliseum Health System volunteer program is awarding academic scholarships to Middle Georgia high school seniors and post-secondary students pursuing healthcare careers.
A total of 10 recipients were awarded $1,000 each.
The recipients of the 2021 scholarships are:
• Katherine Beasley is a recent graduate of Veterans High School and plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a career as a physician.
• Aman BorichaMasand is a recent graduate of the Academy for Classical Education and plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a career as a robotic neurosurgeon.
• Courtney Carr is a current student at Middle Georgia State University pursuing a career as a physician.
• McKenzie Gleanton is a recent graduate of First Presbyterian Day School and plans to attend Clemson University to pursue a career as a nurse.
• Makayla Hall is a recent graduate of Mount De Sales Academy and plans to attend Florida A&M University to pursue a career as a psychiatrist.
• Avery Kemper is a recent graduate of First Presbyterian Day School and plans to attend Auburn University to pursue a career in speech pathology.
• Jack Medlin is a recent graduate of Stratford Academy and plans to attend Auburn University to pursue a career in kinesiology.
• Lauren Merritt is a current student at Valdosta State University pursuing a career as an orthodontist.
• Ridley White is a recent graduate of Mary Person High School and plans to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a career as a trauma nurse.
• Mary-Alaysha Woodford is a current Fort Valley State University student pursuing a career as a pediatrician.
