Cold Front Approaches Middle Georgia, Rain Chances Increase
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The high pressure system that has kept our weather quiet this week is shifting east. Meanwhile, another cold front is approaching from the west.
Moist air will flow from the Atlantic Ocean to Georgia, resulting in the formation of more clouds across the area. A few isolated showers are possible ahead of the front Saturday. Widespread rainfall is likely throughout the day Sunday.
Middle Georgia will likely pick up at least half an inch of rain through Sunday night. Friday morning, forecast models showed the possibility of over an inch of rain in some towns.
After the cold front clears out, another high pressure system will move in. Colder air moves south – temperatures drop out of the 60’s and back into the 50’s next week.
