Cochran Lighting Plant To Close, 441 Jobs Lost

COCHRAN, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – Friday was a very tough day for Bleckley County and Cochran economically as Lithonia Lighting Plant announced it would close down in six months.

441 people will lose their jobs because of the plant closure and Cochran Mayor Pro Tem, Willie Basley, says the loss will cripple an already unstable local economy.

“You know we was all affected by that because Lithonia had meant a lot to Cochran and surrounding cities,” said Basley.
