Coach’s Corner: Rutland Hurricanes enter 2016 with new head coach
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Rutland Hurricanes will enter 2016 with a new coach, after finishing 1-9 last season.
Mark Daniel replaces George Collins. Daniel was at Schley County last season, and won a state title with Wayne County. His career record is 77-68.
The Hurricanes have only had two winning seasons since the school started in 2003.
OFFENSE:
The team struggled to score last season, only averaging 12.1 points-per-game.
Takori Grayer will be the team’s quarterback.
Most of the offensive line will need to be replaced.
DEFENSE:
The Hurricanes allowed 32.8 points-per-game in 2015.
Defensive linemen Justin Braxton and D’Quavious Woods will be returning.
FIRST GAME: August 26th at Perry.
