Coach’s Corner: Roger Holmes of the Dublin Fighting Irish

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In 2016, the Dublin Fighting Irish finished with a record of 8-3, and 4-2 in region play. They reached the playoffs but lost to Fitzgerald 42-7.

The Irish will play in Region 3 AA along with Bleckley County, Dodge County, East Laurens, Northeast, Southwest, and Washington County.

Head coach Roger Holmes has been a mainstay at Dublin, now entering his 16th season with the team.

OFFENSE:

• The Irish will have six starters returning, including their quarterback.
• Will need to replace K Brice Watson.

DEFENSE:

• There will be seven starters returning for the defense.
• This includes DL’s Bruce Guyton and Jaden Derriso, and LB Jermaine Cooley.

FIRST GAME: August 18th vs. Tattnall County at the Shamrock Bowl.
