Coach’s Corner: Central Chargers post first winning season in 10 years

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In 2015, the Central Chargers finished 6-4, which marked their first winning season in ten years.

However, they still failed to make the playoffs despite a 5-3 region record.

Central will play in Region 4-3A with Jackson, Kendrick, Peach County, Pike County, Rutland, and Westside in Macon.

This is Jesse Hicks’ fifth season as head coach.

OFFENSE:

The Chargers averaged 32.6 points-per-game last season.

Quarterback will come down between Donald Lamb and Stefon Jones.

Running backs: Antonio Sanders, Kameron Adkins, Wesley Alexander.

Wide receivers: Que Pennymon, Jakwanis Singleton, Denterius Hogan.

Offensive line: Fuquan Conner, Taylor Dean, Xavier Wesley.

DEFENSE:

The Chargers allowed 17.8 points-per-game last season.

Defensive tackle: Javius Johnson and Zach Cotton.

Defensive end: Jaleel Mays.

Safety: Kanuri Williams.

Cornerback: J.T. Harris.

FIRST GAME: August 27th, versus Mount de Sales at Mercer.
