Clouds move in tomorrow, ahead of rain late this week

Good evening,
Clouds have already started to increase across Middle Georgia this evening. Expect clouds to hang around through the day on Wednesday, before our next rainmaker starts to impact the area overnight.

Low pressure will push in from the Gulf of Mexico bringing heavy rain to much of Middle Georgia, beginning early in the morning on Thursday.

Rain continues on Friday, even after the cold front passes through our area. Wrap around moisture from the low pressure center will bring the possibility for winter weather to parts of North Alabama and North Georgia. Here in Middle Georgia we are expecting only rain.

Rain totals could be impressive once again, with some areas picking up 2-3″ in just 24 hours. This continues to add to high rain totals already this month, and could bring some localized flooding to areas that see the heaviest rainfall.

Heading into the holiday week temperatures across the southeast temperatures are expected to stay above normal, if even just by a few degrees. Right now the forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day looks dry and comfortable with highs in the 60’s.
