MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Several community organizations are coming together for the Clothing the G.A.P. for all Generations, Ages, and People Holiday Drive in Macon.

The event will be held Saturday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rosa Jackson Community Center, located at 1211 Maynard Street. The goal is to collect and redistribute free, new to gently used clothing items, shoes, and jackets to people in need during the Christmas holiday season.

Items can be dropped off at the Rosa Jackson Community Center on Saturday, December 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Monday through Friday, December 8 through 12, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The drive is a collaborative effort involving Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Omega Omega Chapter; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Pi Sigma Chapter; Square Lodge #348; the Rosa Jackson Community Center Advisory Council and the Macon–Middle Georgia National Pan-Hellenic Council.

Organizers say the event will be set up in a boutique-style format, allowing community members to shop for free and select items they need for the winter season.

There will also be a tree giveaway in partnership with Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful.
