City Officials To Discuss Turning Second Floor of Second St. Building Into Church

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – City officials will meet Monday to discuss turning the second floor of a real estate office into a church.

Liquor licensing requirements say there must be a minimum distance of 300 feet between churches and places that sell alcohol. The Roasted Café is just next door, and a liquor store was just approved 85 feet away.

Also, a zoning permit has been issued for a restaurant that would sell alcohol a little more than 200 feet away from the building.

The Macon-Bibb Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Monday to discuss the proposed church.
