City of Warner Robins declares State of Emergency ahead of Hurricane Helene
The State of Emergency is in effect as of 12 p.m. on September 26.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The City of Warner Robins declared a local State of Emergency ahead of Hurricane Helene. The State of Emergency is in effect as of 12 p.m. on September 26.
The City released the following statement:
“This declaration enables the city to implement necessary emergency measures to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens. Mayor Patrick has determined that the severity of the approaching storm requires immediate and comprehensive action to safeguard the community.”
The following provisions from the Warner Robins City Code have been enacted:
- Overcharging prevention: Section 7.5-5 will prevent price gouging during this emergency, ensuring that goods and services remain fairly priced for all residents.
- Registration of Building and Repair Services: Section 7.5-6 mandates that building and repair services operating during this time be properly registered, protecting citizens from unlicensed contractors.
- Closed or Restricted Areas and Curfews: Section 7.5-7 authorizes the city to designate restricted areas and impose curfews as necessary to ensure public safety.
The city will also implement Sections 7.5-2(a)(4)c and d, which grants further authority to regulate traffic and manage resources effectively during this emergency period.
