City of Warner Robins appoints City Administrator

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In a historic move, the City of Warner Robins, the Mayor and City Council have unanimously approved the appointment of the city’s first-ever full-time City Administrator.
According to a news release from the city, James Drinkard, a Houston County native, will officially begin his role on October 28.
“We are thrilled to bring James Drinkard on board as part of our administration,” Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said. “His extensive expertise and background in local government will be invaluable as we continue to move Warner Robins forward. His leadership will be instrumental in driving our city’s growth and ensuring that we meet the needs of our community with innovation and integrity.”
Before his appointment, the city says Drinkard served as the Assistant City Administrator for the City of Alpharetta, Georgia. In this role, he coordinated operations and advised elected officials of Georgia’s 13th largest city, assisted in the development and management of its $163 million annual budget, drafted ordinances and public policy documents and served as the Chief Public Information Officer.
His responsibilities also included planning and coordinating citizen engagement and public outreach activities, as well as simultaneously serving as the Director of Human Resources from 2008 to 2019.
