Residents asked to submit photos documenting housing conditions to support CHIP funding request

SPARTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) The City of Sparta is asking residents to help support its application for Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) funding by submitting photos that document housing needs within the city limits.
City officials say the funding application is aimed at addressing health, safety, and repair issues affecting homes across the community.
“These photos help document the real conditions residents are facing and strengthen our application for funding that could make a meaningful difference in our community,” the city said in a statement.
Types of conditions requested
The city is looking for photos showing housing conditions that raise health or safety concerns or require major repairs. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Collapsing or unstable structures
- Unsafe steps, porches, or entrances
- Roof damage or active leaks
- Water damage, mold, or moisture issues
- Accessibility concerns for seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Storm-related damage or drainage issues affecting homes
Officials say these images help illustrate the need for investment and support the case for funding.
How to submit photos
Photos can be submitted to the city be sending an email to amartin@cityofsparta.org.
Residents are asked to include the address associated with each photo so the city can properly document the reported issue.
City leaders say community participation is critical to advocating for safer and healthier housing for Sparta residents.
