MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The City of Perry will hold its annual Independence Day Celebration on July 4 beginning at 7 p.m. in historic downtown.
The event will include live music, food vendors, and a fireworks display scheduled to begin around 9:20 p.m. Activities available at no cost include face painting, balloon art, and Middle Georgia Jellyball. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Multiple downtown streets will be closed for the event, including Carroll Street, Jernigan Street, Ball Street, and part of Main Street. Parking is available in public lots, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Dedicated handicap parking will be provided at the intersection of Ball Street and Main Street. Officials are warning attendees not to park in private or commercial lots to avoid the risk of being towed.
