City of Dublin Celebrates St. Patty’s Day with Pancakes

How many pancakes can you eat? Because Dublin’s Pancake Supper grilled about 20,000 of them.

Do you like breakfast sausage? Because Dublin’s Pancake Supper has more than 1,500 pounds of it.

Think you have a big family to feed? Because Dublin’s Pancake Supper fed more than 5,000 people today.

Dublin’s Exchange Club hosted the fundraiser again this year, giving all proceeds from the supper to Child Abuse Prevention.

The men grilling the pancakes spent nearly 6 hours on Thursday at the hot plate, cooking (and eating) pancakes, as the line of patrons grew longer and longer out the door.

But the organizers have a trick to keep people moving. There is more than one way to get your pancake fix at this supper. If you don’t have the time to sit down and eat, there’s a drive through for that. Just pull up, tell the guy how many you want, he’ll yell it down the line and take your money, and you can pull up with your plate hot and ready to take home.

People from all across middle Georgia show up to this annual fundraiser. Dublin Exchange Club President, Eric Haskins, says this is an opportunity thousands take advantage of every year.

“They get to see people that they maybe haven’t seen in quite a while. It’s more than just a supper, it’s a fellowship, and a way the people can get together in the community and just have a great evening.”
