City Councilwoman Elaine Lucas to Run for New Consolidated Government
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon City councilwoman Elaine Lucas is throwing her name in the race for commissioner of the new consolidated government.
Lucas is a life-long Macon resident. She served on city county for 25 years. Her goals are to improve recreation, support law enforcement, and make sure any promises made to the citizens are kept.
Lucas says if elected, she will bring the same hard work ethic, commitment, and spirit to the new position.
“I’m going to make sure that the promises that have been made to all of us are kept,” Lucas said. “I’m going to make the sure that I’m at the table representing you in the manner that you deserve to be represented and that’s what I pledge to do today.”
Lucas is running for District 3 which includes a large portion of east Macon near Shurlington Drive and a section of Sofkee near the airport in south Bibb County.
