A Christmas Eve wish list for Georgia sports: Bulldogs, Falcons, Hawks and Braves

BS Report: December 24th - Bill's Wish List-- From a national title hope for the Bulldogs to roster wishes for Atlanta’s pro teams, one fan’s holiday wish list covers Georgia sports.

On this Christmas Eve, I want wish you and your families a very merry Christmas. I hope you’re looking forward to a great day on Thursday with your families.  I want to share with you my Christmas List, my wish list for Santa Claus that I hope will he bring down the chimney for me later on tonight.

Georgia Bulldogs: Another championship in sight

First of all, for the Georgia Bulldogs. Well, you know what? It’s been a couple of years. How about another national championship? How about a 3rd national championship in 5 years? I’ll take that. And with the way they’re playing right now, I don’t think it’s out of the question that it could happen.

They are a much better football team now than they were back in August from the start of the season against Marshall. And I think we’ve seen that progression and that development along the way over the last 13 games. It’s going talk next week when they play Ole Miss. There’s no question about that. And that will be a real fun game next Thursday in New Orleans.

But with the way Georgia is playing, with an improved pass rush and an improved secondary, which kind of goes hand in hand, a running game that’s very, very solid, and a quarterback in Gunner Stockton that seems to play his best games against the best competition, I think Georgia has a very legitimate shot at winning it all.

Atlanta Falcons: A call for a full reset

For the Atlanta Falcons. Well, this is going to be rude because who wants to lose their job Christmas time, right? But I kind of want everybody in the building to get fired. Is that a bad thing to ask Santa Claus?

I mean, like everybody — every scout, every front office executive, every coach. Yeah, I don’t care who it is. Fire them. Get rid of them and start over. Please start over. Please fire this coach, Raheem Morris, who is not any good, and get rid of all the bad juju that’s gone on over the last 8 years so they can wipe it clean and get on track. Please.

Santa or Arthur Blank — either one — fire everybody and start over.

Atlanta Hawks: Lottery luck and roster hopes

For the Atlanta Hawks. Well, you know what? I want to hope for a really good piece of luck in May for the draft lottery so they can get another significant piece of this puzzle. They have either the New Orleans or Milwaukee draft pick, whichever one is worse, and adding a piece out of this draft, which is going to be historically good, could be very, very important for this team. And hopefully they’ll finish with a winning record. And Jalen Johnson will make the All-Star team. And they’ll trade Trae Young. I’d take that as well.

Atlanta Braves: One more arm on the wish list

And finally, for the Atlanta Braves. Well, you know what? They’ve already filled a couple of items on the wish list. With another bat in Mike Yastrzemski, and also keeping the shortstop Ha-Seong Kim. And of course, adding to the bullpen, bringing back Raisel Iglesias and signing Robert Suarez.

How about a starting pitcher? Yes, the Braves need another starting pitcher. I’ve been screaming about this. And yes, Santa, Alex Anthopoulos, please get another starting pitcher — a legitimate major league starting pitcher — before opening day.

Merry Christmas, everybody.
