Cherry Blossom Festival comes to Bruce Elementary School
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Cherry Blossom Festival went to south Macon today, as special guests brought the Pinkest Party on Earth to Charles H. Bruce Elementary School.
President of the festival, Jake Ferro, was on hand with the Cherry Blossom Royal Court to help celebrate with students and teachers alike.
“This is something really new from years’ past,” Ferro said.
The Cherry Blossom Queen and her court mingled with some of their young fans, and helped give away prizes to a few lucky winners.
Ferro believes that Macon’s annual cherry blossom tradition should be a region wide event, and a key goal is to get as many people involved as possible.
“It’s a great time of year and they want to bring it to many people who don’t get an opportunity to go down to the festival,” he said. “So why not bring the festival out to the people? Community festival by the people and for the people.”
After the assembly was over, students were given a special treat: pink ice cream.
Bruce Elementary wasn’t the only place to embrace the party; other members of the Royal Court were in Roberta helping to bring the festival to Crawford County.
